I found these after I learned about the importance of a wide toe box, zero drop shoe.
Your heel was not meant to be elevated all the time. While this helps you walk on your mid foot, load the driving muscles of your calf, and make your legs look good, it will shorten the length of your achilles tendon.
Thinner soles are great to increase your foot awareness. Once you go barefoot, you'd be suprised how much more proprioceptive feedback you receive from barefoot shoes.
More importantly, your toes weren't meant to be smashed together in a point. You want maximum stability by spreading out your toes.
After you learn all of this, you quickly realize that barefoot, wide toebox shoes are among the ugliest shoes in existence. It is no wonder why Nike's and chucks are so slim!
I stumbled upon these after I saw Rogan mention them. Getting a former Reebok designer to make good looking barefoot shoes was a no-brainer. Excellent Business decision.
Here are my thoughts on them.
Pros:
-Look great. Chuck taylor style shoes are timeless in my eyes, so smart design choice.
-lightweight.
-hexagonal tessellation soles are excellent for flexibility and proprioceptive feedback. Traction is great.
-flat laces with flat lace holes should be the standard. Keeps them from twisting and looking bad.
-insole is fairly comfortable
-toebox is not overly wide. enough to give you ample room without looking like a clown
-true to size for me as I always wear 11W to get more toebox in typical shoes. might…
