    Runner with wide feet

I started considering the flux runner in my continuing search for a running shoe that would alleviate the issues I have with my feet, which are wide at the toe box but normal/narrow at the heel. Id often find shoes that fit the width of my toes comfortably but slip in the heel, so I thought I'd give the flux runners a try.

The toe box is very roomy, though maybe not quite where my foot is the widest. That said, the stretchy material makes it comfortable for my toes and snug at the heel for a good running experience.

Zero drop is new to me and it definitely took a few runs to get used to. I took my first few runs with them easy but after a few workouts was able to get used to them. I've found with a zero drop that a solid mid foot strike is easier to achieve once I got use to my foot feeling like it was unusually flexed. Since I've gotten used to them I've been able to comfortably put in about 25-30 miles a week.

For sizing, I usually wear street shoes in. 9.5, but running shoes in a 10 or 10.5. on the guidance of the site I purchased a 9.5, but if I had to do it over id go for a 10. My right foot, which is closer to a 10 street shoe size definitely hits the front of the shoe when I run in excess of 4 of 5 miles.

The hardest thing to get used to with these shoes is the abrupt roll through on the toe. At first it felt like I might tip forward completely as my stride rolled through to my forefoot, but I have gradually gotten used to it. The abrupt transition to the toe…

    No more metatarsal foot pain

I bought these about a year ago. Love them. I had foot pain that would not improve with other shoes. Pain was gone after 3 days of wearing Flux Adapt runners. Pictures are of the wear after a year of about 10,000 to 12,000 steps/day. Might have to try the trainers.

Great for lifting, cardio and every day wear!

Definitely love the space in the toe box and after a few weeks of wearing these, I feel like the adapt soles cushion my feet really well! Definitely will be getting another pair.

My only thing is getting used to is that I have to wear socks so my feet slide a bit with the soles, but I might try some different socks too.

    Love this shoe

2 things caught my eye with this shoe. 1. The colors. 2. The wide two box. I have neutral feet but have a hard time running in shoes with over cushion. I ran 10 miles in them and had no problem! I don’t know how they will do for half or full marathon but it’s a good daily running shoe! It only took me one run to break in. Buying my second pair soon!

Product FAQ's

Yes, these shoes are flat from heel to toe, allowing your feet to land naturally.

"Barefoot shoes" is a general term for shoes that optimize the natural biomechanics of the human foot. To achieve that, our shoes feature excellent flexibility, zero-drop (no heel raise), and a generous toebox to accomodate the foot's natural shape.

The amount of time it takes to transition to barefoot shoes varies for each individual, as everyone's feet are different and may adapt to the new shoes at different rates. However, the following general guidelines can help:

  • Gradual transition: Gradually increasing the amount of time you spend in barefoot shoes can help reduce discomfort and allow your feet to adjust to the new sensation of walking without shoes.
  • Start small: Begin by wearing barefoot shoes for a few hours at a time and gradually increase the duration as your feet get used to them.
  • Listen to your body: Pay attention to any discomfort or pain you experience while wearing barefoot shoes. If you experience discomfort, take a break and switch back to your regular shoes for a few days.
  • Give it time: It can take several weeks or even months for your feet to fully adjust to barefoot shoes, so be patient and persistent.

Keep in mind that everyone's feet are different and the transition time may vary. It's important to listen to your body and adjust accordingly to ensure a comfortable transition to barefoot shoes.

Yes! Many of our customers have successfully transitioned from traditional shoes to barefoot/minimalist shoes by wearing our shoes.

The Adapt Runner has a generous toebox, thanks to the Toe-Off shape which creates ample room for the toes throughout the gait cycle.
