I have never been a fan of shoes. No matter the brand, I end up with sore toes, sore midfoot, or blisters… or sometimes a mixture. I was skeptical of Flux shoes, but the minute I first put them on I could tell they were completely different. My toes no longer hurt… My arch and midfoot are comfortable. No blisters! The back is so sturdy, yet so flexible and easy to get on and off. Not sure how they do it. Modern shoes limit your mobility. Natural movement shoes let them move as they should—building strength, improving balance, and supporting posture. With a wide toe box and zero-drop design, they help you move freely, comfortably, and naturally.

The amount of time it takes to transition to barefoot shoes varies for each individual, as everyone's feet are different and may adapt to the new shoes at different rates. However, the following general guidelines can help:

  • Gradual transition: Gradually increasing the amount of time you spend in barefoot shoes can help reduce discomfort and allow your feet to adjust to the new sensation of walking without shoes.
  • Start small: Begin by wearing barefoot shoes for a few hours at a time and gradually increase the duration as your feet get used to them.
  • Listen to your body: Pay attention to any discomfort or pain you experience while wearing barefoot shoes. If you experience discomfort, take a break and switch back to your regular shoes for a few days.
  • Give it time: It can take several weeks or even months for your feet to fully adjust to barefoot shoes, so be patient and persistent.

Keep in mind that everyone's feet are different and the transition time may vary. It's important to listen to your body and adjust accordingly to ensure a comfortable transition to barefoot shoes.

A wide toe box refers to the space at the front of a shoe, allowing the toes to align and spread naturally. This design helps reduce pressure on the toes, improving foot function and comfort. Flux shoes have a generous toe-box, thanks to the toe-off shape which creates ample room for the toes throughout the gait cycle.

Adapt Runners fit small for most. We recommend sizing up a 1/2 size for the best fit. For more details, refer to our size chart for guidance on finding your perfect fit.

Machine Washable: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colors. If using a top-loading machine, place on top of laundry load. Let air dry, out of direct sunlight. Do not machine-dry. This will also freshen up and re-animate the interior foam. For white shoes, to preserve the color, we recommend treating the shoe with a water/stain repellent spray prior to wear. Do not use bleach.

    Love from Day 1

    I was a bit skeptical at first, as I had Hoka shoes, which were mainly used for walking. I also used to own Vibram barefoot shoes, and I can say these are a perfect happy middle. Love the zero drop, massage insoles, wide toe, and how lightweight these shoes are! I have done 100K steps so far and am looking forward to getting another pair/color! The size fits what I have now, and I have a wide foot; I did not have to go up or down in size, and it fits perfectly!

    10/10 recommend. My podiatrist recommended these shoes for my plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. Wear them all day (I’m a RN in a busy cancer center) and my feet and knees don’t hurt at all. I always thought a needed a great arch support since I have high arches. My podiatrist recommended a barefoot shoe to help strengthen my Achilles tendon. These shoes have done wonders. Will be purchasing many more! I waited 3 months to write this review but it is the same as day 1!

    Great Purchase

    Super comfortable with a bounce with every step. Great for running, and nice on the knees. I have two pairs to switch between. Will recommend getting a 1/2 size up (for barefoot and/or with socks). The exchange process was easy.

    Love Flux, but the OG version needs to come back!

    Before I get into it, I have to say the Flux Adapt Runner is a great shoe. I have a friend who I discuss footwear and athletic ailments with. We were both D1 athletes and are often looking for the best gear we can find to help with our post-athlete exercising and life. We were talking about our plantar fasciitis and lamenting how many barefoot shoes were not supportive enough and hurt due to their thin soles, but conventional shoes had narrow toeboxes and were too cushioned to actually be supportive.

    Enter Flux--my friend turned me on to them when they first came out and I got a gray pair. They were amazing. Not only were they some of the comfiest shoes I had ever put on, they almost entirely eliminated my pain from plantar fasciitis. I loved the sock style slip-on design, the footbed was solid, but comfortable, my feet could breathe, and I could do about any exercise without paying a heavy price of pain the next day.

    I loved them so much that I bought a pair of Waterproof Adapt Runners. These were a little tighter because of the added fabric for waterproofing, but were still the amazing shoe I had come to love and need.

    My original pair had started to wear through after constant use for 2 years, so I purchased a new pair to replace them (black). While this iteration is still a good shoe, I was really dissapointed after my first few uses because Flux had made some changes that are not as good as the original. I waited a month and a half to write this review to…

    Changes the game

    These shoes took running from a painful nightmare to something I actually look forward to. I get compliments and inquires on mine almost every time I wear them, and my gait and balance has improved significantly over this year with my adapt runners. Good shoes are truly priceless.
